The case of the non-appearing comments

The BIB editor writes:

Apologies to Denis McCarthy and William Duddy, who sent comments of substance this morning on parts 1 and 2 of the 'A crossroads?' series, and have had to wait longer than usual, without explanation, for their comments to appear.

Everyone needs to allow for some delay between sending in their comment and its appearance on the blog, as (to guard against the automatic publication of scams or ads for porn sites and Chinese garden furniture) all comments received on the blog have to wait in limbo for me to 'moderate' them - that is, OK them for publication.

Normally the Blogger organisation sends me a notification that a comment is awaiting moderation; but for some reason this did not happen in the case of the three posts from Denis and William. It did, however, with a later comment, which led me to discover the 'missing' three, all of which are now published.

Update 4 Oct.: It has now emerged that Blogger did send e-mail notifications of the comments' arrival, but my e-mail system put them - and not the one that followed them - into its 'spam' box.

No need for apologies, Richard. We're indebted to you for the time and effort you devote to the Blog - which is serving even more purpose than ever - as a "Covid free" zone !!
