Thanks to
Richard Thompson for revealing (in his feature yesterday on the late
Vic Jordan in
Bluegrass Today) that a new book on
Earl Scruggs, the Father of Bluegrass Banjo, is expected to come on sale early next year. It is based on extensive interviews with Earl's family and many notable banjo-players and others who knew him or came under his influence.
Earl Scruggs: banjo icon, a 256-page book by
Gordon Castelnero and
David L. Russell, is being published by Rowman & Littlefield and is scheduled to appear in March 2017. The hardback is priced at $40.00 and the e-Book at $39.99; no details appear at present of a paperback issue.
