Monroe Mandolin Camp, 4-7 Sept. 2014: update

Thanks to Mike Compton (left), master mandolinist and leading interpreter of the music of the Father of Bluegrass, for further news of this year's Monroe Mandolin Camp, which will be held at Camp Marymount (photo below), just west of Nashville, TN, on 4-7 Sept. 2014. (The BIB carried a brief advance note on the Camp in June.)

Full details of the Camp, and much more, are on its website and Facebook. As an example of the instruction on offer, the newsletter includes a video demonstration by Mike of a Bill Monroe tune, 'Old Lonesome Waltz', using just two fingers of the left hand. This can also be seen on YouTube, where it is one of the videos on Mike's own YouTube channel.
