2nd Bunratty Banjo Pickers Festival, 26-28 Sept. 2014

Thanks to Brendan Walsh and his team from the Sixmilebridge Folk Club for bringing about the second Bunratty Banjo Pickers Festival, which will be held in the unique setting of the Castle (left), the Folk Park, and adjacent venues in Bunratty, Co. Clare, on the last September weekend - Friday 26 to Sunday 28 September. The complete schedule, hour by hour and venue by venue, can be seen here.

Special attractions for the bluegrass fan are the Moron Brothers from central Kentucky. The indefatigable John Nyhan is organising a tour for the Brothers, and we hope to be able to publish soon their full schedule in Ireland. Also taking part are Limerick's own Banjaxed Bluegrass Band, old-time string bands, and other outfits using the banjo in its different forms and different genres of music.
