Vincent Cross: March Madness newsletter

Thanks to Vincent Cross in the USA for his March Madness newsletter, in which he records his first visit to this year's Folk Alliance International in Kansas City. The photo shows Vincent finding it 'a very filling experience', but doing his best to take everything in. He records: 'We had a great turnout from Wales, Canada, and Australia, but too few from Ireland.'

Highlights of the event included the keynote speech by Graham Nash; hearing Jim Kweskin playing with Dom Flemons; and sitting in with Roy Book Binder. Vincent also recommends checking out a pile of other artists named in his newsletter. This Sunday (9 March) Kasey Rausch will be reviewing this year's event and the new discoveries at it on www.kkfi.org, with live guests including Betse Ellis of the Wilders.

You can see more photos, including Vincent's 'new' 1955 Martin 0-18 from Retrofret, in the newsletter, together with the dates for his tour in California in April, and more.
