A few hasty notes

Thanks to Ray O'Brien for two items just published on his Bluegrass in Ireland Facebook page:

(1) Roger Ryan of the Country Music Association of Ireland reports that leading Nashville songwriter Max T. Barnes and upcoming country singer Craig Curtis (more details and links on Ray's Facebook) will be in Cork early next week, making the following appearances:

Tues. 18th: Cork City Library, Grand Parade, Cork, 1.00 p.m.
Interview on County Sound with Sean Donlon, 8.30 p.m.
Pickin' Party, Rockies Club, Blackrock, Cork, 10.00 p.m.

Wed. 19th: Concert, Cork Opera House, 8.00 p.m.

(2) Aran Sheehan reports that the Boxcar Preachers from Texas, who made a big impact at previous Dunmore East bluegrass festivals, will be back at Dunmore East this August and are looking for other gigs in Ireland around that time. Again, for more details see Ray's Facebook.

To correspondents earlier this year who wanted contact details for the Didmarton Bluegrass Festival in England, which at the time I couldn't supply: the festival, under new management, will be on 29-31 August this year, and can be contacted through the website.

A flyer for Didmarton, giving ticket prices, has been issued with the latest number of British Bluegrass News, the official BBMA magazine, which is a really excellent quarterly journal and a good model for any bluegrass association that produces a magazine.
