String band updates

Following on Sunday's post about the Quebecois trio De Temps Antan who played here recently, the Brookfield Knights agency announce that the time-frames for booking the trio on their return trip this coming autumn will be:

Ireland, dates available: 23 October to 2 November 2014

England, Wales, and Scotland, dates available: 20-30 November 2014

And while we're dealing with string bands from outside the strictly bluegrass and 'old-time' areas - the Seamus Ennis Cultural Centre at Naul, Co. Dublin, will be presenting this coming Saturday (8 Feb.) the Sligo-based quintet NoCrows who play music from a wide range of genres on violins, cello, bass, guitar, mandolin, and more. The Centre warns on its event page that the last three NoCrows performances at Naul were completely sold out, so book early to avoid disappointment.
