Muriel Andersen available for bookings in Oct. 2014

Thanks to Ray O'Brien for passing on the news that Muriel Anderson (USA) (above: photo by Chuck Winans) will be available for bookings here this October, according to Glenn Blackman of WBA Entertainment, Inc. The BIB last posted news on her on 10 Sept. 2012, when she was one of the artists taking part in the Inishowen Guitar Festival.

In 1989 she became the first woman to win the National Finger Style Guitar Championship at the prestigious Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas, and bluegrass and old-time are among the many musical genres she loves, as shown in this YouTube video of her imitating the instruments of a bluegrass band on a medley of 'Old Joe Clark', 'Angeline', and 'Foggy Mountain breakdown', with a little bit of 'Lonesome road blues' at the end. She has performed with many other leading guitarists.
