Athy 2013 WILL take place!

Tony O'Brien (left; photo from an original by Carl Mark O'Neill) sends this statement, the most pleasant surprise so far in 2013:

The Athy Festival is back on after an interjection and injection from the Athy town council. At a meeting today with the council chairman and town clerk, they have agreed to put some money into the festival to keep it alive.

So the 2013 23rd Athy Bluegrass Festival is on for the weekend 12-14 July in the Athy GAA Centre. The lineup will be on the festival website shortly. We hope all our fans have not made alternative arrangements and will be with us again.
