Vickers Vimy: That vinyl scratch for release
Thanks to Ed Drea of the Galway-based roots band Vickers Vimy (named for the RAF aircraft that made the first non-stop transatlantic flight) for the news that they will release their debut record That vinyl scratch on 14 March 2013. Produced by Daragh O'Toole (U2, Paddy Casey, Ballymun Lullaby) and mixed by Ger McDonnell (Martha Wainwright), the album features Colm Mac An Iomaire from the Frames and the Swell Season and a good crew of friends.
The band had enthusiastic reviews in Hot Press in June and July 2012 and have to date supported such artists as John Martyn, the Hothouse Flowers, Mundy, and Maria Doyle Kennedy & the Guggenheim Grotto. As well as their website, they are on Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud, and YouTube.
Labels: Bands, CDs, Folk, On the edge
