Two Man Gentlemen Band, Jan. 2013
More transatlantic talent on offer from the UK's Brookfield Knights agency, who send this news:
The Two Man Gentlemen Band (USA) will be flown in to the UK for an appearance at Celtic Connections Festival on the weekend of 25/26 January and will thereafter be available for a select few add-on dates in England/ Wales/ Ireland. If you wanna catch a slice of the action, please get back to us asap. If we have enough interest, this will happen.
'Celtic connections' seems a pretty elastic term; but the TMGB's music would have sounded familiar to many of the first generation of bluegrass musicians and their immediate old-time predecessors. With bass, kazoos, tenor guitar, plectrum banjo, and the like, in neat arrangements with a lot of humour, they present the blues-, jazz-, and ragtime-influenced styles of the first third of the twentieth century. Several videos of them can be seen on YouTube.
