Open House bring Old Crow Medicine Show to Belfast, 31 Jan. 2013
Thanks to the Open House team in Belfast for the news that as part of their 'festival lineup all year long' programme, they will be presenting the Old Crow Medicine Show (USA), together with special guests, on Thursday 31 January 2013 in Mandela Hall, QUB Students Union, University Road, Belfast BT7 1NF. Tickets (advance online price £19.50; door price £23) will be available from 9 a.m. on Monday 22 October 2012 from this link. Doors will open at 7.30 p.m., and the show is strictly for over-18s.
The OCMS (who released their fourth album, Carry me back, this summer) have already played two Open House shows with great success. The Open House team says:
... why is it this band in particular who have broken through into the mainstream? It's the very things that we love about the band, and make us feel that they reflect what Open House Festival is all about - proper virtuoso grass-roots folk music but played with such swagger and punk-DIY attitude that in an uncanny way, it actually makes you forget you're listening to folk music and makes you think you are listening to rock 'n' roll.
See the whole Open House release here. The OCMS will be playing the previous night (Wed. 30 Jan. 2013) at Vicar Street, Dublin. On 1 February they begin three dates in Britain.
