Velvet Blue and Kentucky Hoedowners in Munster, 18-23 July 2012

Thanks to Roger Ryan of the Country Music Association of Ireland for the news that the Velvet Blue bluegrass band from Morehead, Kentucky, is now on a brief tour of the south and west of Ireland. The Velvet Blue (Brian Cooper, vocals, guitar; Carrie Johnson, vocals, bass; Hearld Henry, vocals, banjo; Taylor Hampton, mandolin) can be heard on their ReverbNation page and on YouTube (don't confuse them with the Blue Velvet Band).

The Velvet Blue, together with the Kentucky Hoedowners dance group, began their tour last night (Roger reports there was a full house at Blackrock), and are here till next week, when they will take part in the Damhsafest (Irish international folk dance festival) in Cork. Their schedule is:
