Niall Toner: bluegrass workshop and concert in Carlow Arts Festival, 10, 13 June 2012

Thanks to Hugo Jellett, director of the Carlow Arts Festival (8-17 June 2012), for news of two separate contributions to the Festival by Niall Toner.

On Sunday 10 June at 11.30 a.m., Niall will be giving a performing and participatory bluegrass workshop in the George Bernard Shaw Theatre in Carlow town. Anyone of any age is invited to attend with their own guitar, mandolin, banjo, or other stringed instrument (acoustic only); admission, at €10, is limited to thirty people. Three of Niall's promising protégés, Katie, Jack, and Cathal, will assist.

On Wednesday 13 June (8.30-10.30 p.m.) the Niall Toner Band will be giving a concert in a replica 1890 Wyoming timber barn, located inside the vast Main Gallery at the Visual centre, Carlow - the first band ever to play live in this location. Admission is €15.00.

Tickets for both events can be booked on +353 (0)59 9172400 or through the Carlow Arts Festival website.
