Viper Central to play at Omagh on Canada Day, 1 July 2012

Viper Central from Canada, who toured Ireland in early summer 2011, will be back just a little later this year as part of a tour in these islands during July and August. The band have made several tours in Britain, Ireland, and continental Europe as well as North America; this year they are releasing their third album, Thump & howl.

Thanks to Richard Hurst of the Ulster American Folk Park at Omagh, Co. Tyrone, for the news that Viper Central are scheduled to play at the Park on Canada Day - Sunday 1 July. Details of further dates by the band in this island have not yet been announced.

The Park will stage its annual Appalachian & Bluegrass Music Festival - the second oldest annual bluegrass event in this island, and the largest paying-in bluegrass event in Europe - on 31 Aug.-2 Sept. this year; details of the 2012 lineup will be announced soon. Richard and Geordie McAdam of the Broken String Band appear in the photo above left.
