Sarah McQuaid at Arklow, 26 Apr. 2012

Thanks to Brendan O'Regan, organiser of roots concerts in Arklow, Co. Wicklow, for the news that on Thursday 26 April at 9.00 p.m., singer/songwriter/folk singer Sarah McQuaid (photo above by Mark Francis from her website) will be playing at 'Roots Fifty-Six', the Fifty Six Bar, Main St., Arklow. Support is local singer Jennifer Lee. Brendan adds:

Sarah, who has written a manual on open tunings [The Irish DADGAD guitar book], will also give a workshop on the Thursday afternoon to the budding guitar pickers at the local CBS Secondary School. Sarah's new album The plum tree and the rose is out now.

Sarah McQuaid is now on tour in Ireland up to 29 April, and her full schedule - including DADGAD workshops in Dublin and Monaghan - can be seen here. Brendan hopes to be able to present visiting bluegrass acts at 'Roots Fifty-Six' in the coming year.
