A once-in-a-lifetime occasion

Bluegrass Today reports that the celebrations last September at the International Bluegrass Music Museum (IBMM) in Owensboro, KY, to mark the centenary of Bill Monroe's birth, will be recalled in a special two-hour online live radio broadcast tomorrow evening.

The programme will be in Bob Mitchell's 'Best of Bluegrass' series on Radio Bluegrass International, which can be accessed on the IBMM website. The time appears as 4.00-6.00 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time (USA), which we gather corresponds to 9.00-11.00 p.m. Irish time. The IBMM celebrations really were a once-in-a-lifetime event, and anyone who missed them should take this opportunity of catching up as far as possible.

Update 9 Apr.: 'William Smith Monroe', the commemorative song by our own Niall Toner, was among the music heard on the programme.
