Earl Scruggs tribute concert at the Parlour, 29 Apr. 2012

Thanks to Adele Ingram of One-A-Chord Music Promotions and the Bluegrass Pickin' Parlour in Belfast, for the news that a special tribute concert in honour of Earl Scruggs will be held at the Parlour (in the Green Room, the Black Box), on the afternoon of Sunday 29 April. The proceedings will open at 2.00 p.m. with an open mic. session, followed by the Down & Out Bluegrass Band at 3.00, and an open jam from 4.00.

This schedule - open mic., guest band, and jam - is standard for the Parlour, which is open on the last Sunday of every month. This is of course a special occasion, as the poster's exhortation ('Bring banjos... Bring more banjos') makes clear. The Parlour's Facebook page announces that Mel Corry and ten other named bluegrass stalwarts will be there, and we hope that every other picker and enthusiast who can reach the Parlour for this event will do so too.
