Irish bluegrassers in Brittany for St Patrick's weekend

Thanks to Aran Sheehan for the news that a 'unique rendezvous with BanjoMania' will be held near Plouaret, Côtes-d'Armor, Brittany, in north-west France, over the St Patrick's Day weekend (16-18 Mar. 2012).

The YES WEEKEND! (organised by the Compagnie Papier Théâtre) will include concerts, a masterclass, and a Ciné-Repas at the Vieux-Marché near Lannion. The masterclass will be given by French 5-string maestro Gilles Rézard and Tom Hanway (USA; Longford resident since 2003). For more info, see the poster image (click for a larger view) or contact the Compagnie Papier Théâtre.

There will be a bluegrass evening on Friday 16 Mar. at Korong, Glomel (22), including the duo of Gilles Rézard and Jacques Titley (who has played often in Ireland with his Jacques Danielle's String Band) and the trio from Ireland of Tom Hanway (banjo), Aran Sheehan (mandolin), and Hugh Taggart (guitar). A final concert of Irish bluegrass will be held on Sunday 18 Mar. at the Sabots Rouges, Gueméné/Scorff (56).
