Bill Monroe and 'The week in politics'

The Monroe home place before restoration - a parallel with the state of Irish politics? (photo: Lilly Pavlak)

Thanks to Enda Donnelly of Fair City Grass, who reports:

Last night as I was sitting down to watch 'The week in politics', the background music being played was none other than Bill Monroe's 'Lonesome Moonlight Waltz'. Although nice to hear, one would have wished to hear it played in a different context, rather than the Mahon tribunal.

The version played was (to the best of my knowledge) a Kenny Baker rendition, as no credits were shown.

The programme can be seen on RTE Player till 15 April.
