Sacred Harp spreads to Dublin

We learn from the Cork Sacred Harp website that:

Following a wonderful singing workshop last weekend, Dublin has become the home to a brand new community Sacred Harp sing.

Starting Friday 17 February, the group will be meeting every Friday evening in Exchange Dublin (a community-run, collective arts space in Temple Bar) from 7.00 to 9.00 p.m. The obvious exception to this will be 2 March when the Second Ireland Sacred Harp convention will be under way here in Cork.

Newcomers to the tradition are very welcome, no matter what their singing experience or ability might be. As this is a new group, we very much hope that people will lend their support. Initiatives like this thrive on community involvement - and besides, it is a lot of fun.

There will be no admission fee at any of these sings, though small donations are appreciated. Any questions can be directed to [e-mail]. We would like to wish Sacred Harp Dublin the absolute very best of luck with all their efforts.
