Genuine Irish washboard (or other percussion) wanted
Glad to hear from Sam Pierce Harrell III of Georgia Tech Research Institute in Atlanta, GA, who sends this request:
Do you have any percussion instruments, like a washboard, from Ireland? I would love to have something from Ireland to play in our bluegrass circles!
We have of course cautioned him against accepting anything remotely like a bodhrán from anyone. If someone has a solidly made washboard with good tone, no tuning problems, and a reliable Irish provenance, Sam can be contacted by e-mail.
The above image shows a fairly generic washboard, suitable (with customising) for most musical occasions but not really up to concert professional standards. Serious washboards can be seen on the RattleBrainEd website.
