Bluegrass live in east Ulster, 25 Feb. 2012

Thanks to Howard Walker of the Down and Out Bluegrass Band for the news that the DOBB will be playing this Saturday (25 February) in the Plough Inn, Hillsborough, Co. Down. from 3.00 p.m. until 6.00 p.m. It will be an acoustic set and is free admission. Everyone is welcome. (The band will also be appearing this evening, 22 Feb., on BBC2 TV NI at 7.30 p.m. in 'Santer'.)

The above photo, showing the DOBB (r-l: Howard, Roy Brown, Richard Leeman, and the left hand of fiddler Mal Duffin) at last September's Omagh festival, is at the top of the latest e-newsletter from Dangem Quality Instruments of Craigavon, Co. Armagh, announcing the next in the series of monthly Dangem Bluegrass Get-Togethers.

This will also take place on Saturday 25 February 2012, from 9.30/10.00 a.m. to 12.00 noon at the Lagan Valley Island, Island Civic Centre, Lisburn, Co. Antrim. The normal arrangements will apply, except that the banjo beginner’s class (10.30-11.00) will henceforth be taken by Howard Walker, at a cost of £5.00 per person - a reduction on Howard's normal one-on-one tuition fee (£15.00 per half-hour), as this is a group session. Full details can be seen here or on the Dangem website.
