With reference to what the BIB said a few days ago, that the ukulele is 'not yet' a bluegrass instrument - thanks to
Eamonn Quigley, who sends
this link to a YouTube video of ukulele maestro
Jake Shimabukuro at a live show. The video has been given the title 'Bluegrass ukulele'; the channel owner notes that Shimabukuro 'introduced this as being inspired by his time with
Bela Fleck'; and it's easy to imagine it being played in a
Mountain Heart show.
This is outstanding playing, but it doesn't convince us that the uke has a future in bluegrass except as an occasional novelty. However, in consideration of the feelings of those who love the instrument, we're attaching this photo of a
Martin 2T tenor ukulele.
