Banjo-picker
Terry Kruger of Calgary, Canada, sends news of his new instrumental album
Mountain bluebird. Terry began playing bluegrass banjo back when trying to make sense of what one could hear on records was practically the only way of learning. Similar to the great
Tony Ellis, Terry has a personal style that combines bluegrass picking with old-time tunings, and eight of the sixteen tunes on the album are his original compositions.
The CD was engineered and produced by
Dirk Powell, who also plays on the album along with
Kevin Wimmer of the
Red Stick Ramblers. Read more about the genesis of the album and the individual tunes
here; you can hear audio samples on
CD Baby.
