David Holt in Ireland, 9-10 Sept. 2011

Many of us will have fond memories of the appearance of David Holt & the Lightning Bolts a year ago at Omagh 2010, so thanks to Paul Lee of the Musiclee.ie agency for this news:

We have our first gig in the Odessa club next Saturday, 10 September. Concert is David Holt (regular partner of Doc Watson and 4-time Grammy winner; his first ever Dublin gig!). Venue seats only 80, so reserve in advance recommended online. Have a listen to him here.

Four-time Grammy Award winner David is a musician, storyteller, historian, television host, and entertainer, dedicated to performing and preserving traditional American music and stories.

Holt plays ten acoustic instruments and has released numerous award-winning recordings of traditional mountain music and southern folktales. Has performed and recorded with Doc Watson, Grandpa Jones, Bill Monroe, Earl Scruggs, Roy Acuff, and Chet Atkins.

He will be performing at the 2011 Cape Clear Storytelling festival 2-4 September and will do just two intimate concerts in Ireland before heading home: the Odessa Club (10 Sept.) and the Spirit Store (9 Sept.)
