Viktor Kutka - news from Slovakia

We're delighted to receive news and photos from Viktor Kutka, who joined the Irish bluegrass community in 2005, when he became a frequent attender at the then weekly Dublin jam sessions in Harold's Cross. Viktor and his mandolin later moved down to Cork.

Viktor left Ireland in February 2009 to return to his native Slovakia. Since November of that year, he has been working at the Sheraton Bratislava Hotel, as well as building a house in his home town. Viktor writes:

I did not have much time to play my mandolin or guitar recently, as I was busy in work (it was new hotel opening - we were working almost two months 16 hours a day/7 days a week) and also with the house, but that is already getting better and I hope I will be able to play a bit because I really miss it.

In the photo above: Viktor and his wife Ria, with their four older children Rachel, Benjamin, Joachim, and Sara. Below: on the left, the new house, nearly complete; and on the right, Gabriel Kutka (3650g, 52cm), born three weeks ago. Congratulations to the whole family, and welcome to the new arrival, whom we hope to meet some time!
