Niall Toner: new song 'William Smith Monroe' out on Monday 4 July

Marking the centenary this year of the birth of the Father of Bluegrass, Niall Toner reports:

I am releasing my new Monroe tribute song, 'William Smith Monroe', on 4 July, in many formats.

One of those is as a track on New Cuts of Bluegrass, volume 3, in good company with Ricky Skaggs, Rhonda Vincent, and others. This CD goes out to 550 bluegrass/folk radio stations in the USA and Canada.

I am also releasing 'WSM' digitally through AirPlay Direct, and that enables 6,500 radio stations around the world to download my song for free to broadcast on their stations.

'William Smith Monroe' will also be available as a download for fans and bluegrass music lovers for a mere 99 cent from 4 July, from iTunes, amazon.com, and the NTB website.

Update 2 July: Thanks to Niall for the news that hard copies of the 'William Smith Monroe' single in CD format will be available from the NTB at all their live shows, including the festivals at Athy, Co. Kildare, next week, and at Omagh, Co. Tyrone, and Longford town, both in September 2011. Niall adds:

I am also very pleased to confirm that NTB are back at full strength for all our shows in Ireland, featuring the undisputed talents of Clem O'Brien and Richard Gladney, as well as a few songs and tunes from yours truly.
