Red Wine in Ireland: pre-Omagh appearances?

Red Wine from Genoa in Italy (which they insist on calling 'Genova') are not only a splendid band by any standards, and not only one of the premier bluegrass bands in Europe - they've earned a special place in the affections of bluegrass enthusiasts here, notably in repeated appearances at the Athy and Omagh festivals.

Thus, when the Ulster American Folk Park at Omagh, Co. Tyrone, decided to make the twentieth Appalachian & Bluegrass Music Festival this year (2-4 Sept.) a pretty special event, it was natural to ensure that Red Wine would be on the lineup. But the good news doesn't stop there.

Red Wine will also be available for other appearances in Ireland in the week before the Omagh festival: on Monday 29, Tuesday 30, and Wednesday 31 August. Anyone who wishes to put on a top-class bluegrass show in this island on any of those dates is strongly recommended to contact Red Wine through their website or by e-mail.

Incidentally, in five weeks from now (20-21 May) they will be holding the Third Red Wine Bluegrass Party in their home city, with Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver (USA) as their guests. For more details, click on the poster image.
