Bluegrass fiddle workshop in Dublin, 7 May 2011

Good news for any fiddler who'll be in Dublin during the Baltimore Fiddle Fair weekend, thanks to John Mardirosian, director of Waltons New School of Music at 69 South Great Georges St., Dublin 2. John reports:

I thought you would be interested to hear about our upcoming Bluegrass Fiddle Basics workshop, which will take place at Waltons New School of Music on Saturday 7 May, 3.00–5.30 p.m.

The workshop will introduce authentic bluegrass fiddle techniques and tunes to violin or Irish fiddle players with some previous experience, and will be taught by the excellent bluegrass fiddler Cathy McEvoy [left]. You can find more information on the school website here.

We would appreciate your help in spreading the word about this interesting workshop!

Happy to do so! If there's one thing the scene here badly needs, it is more bluegrass fiddle players. We applaud the School for arranging this workshop, and hope many fiddlers take advantage of the opportunity.

For bluegrass banjo players: the School is already providing tuition from the excellent Paddy Kiernan.
