Where's Woodbine on the Web? Here!

Woodbine now has the new website mentioned on the BIB a week ago, thanks to its fearless leader Tony O'Brien of the Athy Bluegrass Music Association.

The new site looks good right now, and Tony will be making further improvements as time goes by. At present it includes bios, photos (drawn from the nine years of the band's existence), full track listings of the three Woodbine CDs, and performance schedule - including of course the Athy Festival (7-10 July), where Woodbine are the host band.

On St Patrick's day Woodbine played a very enjoyable evening at Bob's Bar, Durrow, Co. Laois (one of the band's favourite venues), with Clem O'Brien on bass and vocals, making a powerful substitute for his sister Nicola. Nicola and her husband Tom Kennedy are preparing for the arrival of their first child next month, and the band - which has consequently been a little less active than usual over the winter - is looking forward to welcoming the new Kennedy and (as a result) getting Nicola back on stage for the 2011 season.
