Southern Welfare on tour, 31 Mar.-2 Apr. 2011

Thanks to Ray O'Brien of Waterford band Southern Welfare for this news:

Southern Welfare (Ireland's most travelled bluegrass band) will be playing three gigs next week. First stop is Thursday 31 March in Kinvara, Co. Galway, where we will be joined by some of our great friends and musicians to enjoy a good night of bluegrass music. The cavalcade of vans and campers will then descend on the quiet (not for long) village of Mohill, Co. Leitrim, on Friday 1 April, where we have been invited by Tommy and Joyce to play a fund-raising gig in Clarke's hotel in aid of the 1st Mohill festival, which will take place in early August. We hope to see some of the bluegrass faithful there!

Then on Saturday 2 April we take the parade to Virginia (not America - Co. Cavan) where we will play in the Lakeside Manor Hotel that night to finish the three-day tour off. Hope some of you can make it to at least one of the gigs over the few days; we're looking forward to catching up with some old faces. For more info, e-mail us or call Ray on 085-1386710.
