Jethro Burns commemorated on Prescription Bluegrass

On Friday 4 February the Prescription Bluegrass blog commemorated Kenneth 'Jethro' Burns, mandolinist, singer, and comedian, who died on that date in 1989 at the age of 68. Among the many musicians with whom his career brought him into contact were Bill Monroe (the Bluegrass Blog posted nearly four years ago a video, unfortunately no longer accessible, of Jethro, fellow mandolinist Red Rector, and their 'very special guest'); master fiddler Dale Potter; and Greg Cahill of Special Consensus.

Be sure to look at the videos assembled on the Prescription Bluegrass post; even Jethro's movements around the mandolin are worth watching. More information on him can be found on the websites of Mel Bay Publications, Wikipedia, and Dave Grisman's Acoustic Disc label.
