Special Consensus in Ireland, 12-19, 26-30 Jan. 2011

Thanks to Nigel Martyn for this reminder and update:

The Special Consensus arrive in Ireland from Chicago later this month for their biennial Irish tour. As usual Greg Cahill will be introducing his latest incarnation of the band which has been around under the Special C. moniker for 35 years. To celebrate this landmark year there is a new CD, simply called 35. The new album, and the group's 10th release, features band founder Greg Cahill, Rick Faris, David Thomas, and Ryan Roberts on a high-powered bluegrass set which includes six new tracks and six tracks compiled from now out-of-print releases featuring lead vocals from some of the band's most illustrious former members. Over the course of their lengthy career Special Consensus have proven themselves to be one of the top-selling bands in the genre.
