... Dave Giegerich the well known American Dobro player passed away yesterday following complications from a bone marrow transplant. I met Dave for the first time at the Moniaive Bluegrass Festival in Scotland in 2009 when he was dobro player with Wayne Taylor. He was a superb player and teacher and a great guy. He loved to pick and would do so at the drop of a hat. The Dobro world is a small place and it will miss him.

Bands that Dave Giegerich also played with included East of Monroe (NB: the Gary Ferguson listed as an East of Monroe member is not Gary Ferguson, as we wrongly supposed at first) and the Hula Monsters.
