Bad weather? What bad weather?

Uri Kohen of Electric Cave Production reports from Co. Mayo:

Although many gigs fell victims to the bad weather around the country in the last two weeks, the gigs in Geraghty's pub in Westport are still in full swing. On Saturday 27.11, Jeff & Vida [above and below], who were touring Ireland at the time, drove through five hours of snow to make it to Westport. The much-loved Nashville-based couple played to a full house their superb bluegrass show.

It was their tenth visit to Ireland and second appearance in Westport. It was great to see that around 100 people overcame the snow in return for a great performance of bluegrass.

This Saturday (11.12) it will be the turn of Dublin-based band Little Ass Birds [below] to make the trip across the Shannon to Westport. They last played Geraghty's in March and we are looking forward to their much anticipated return to the town. The gig will start around 10.00 p.m. and admission is free.

Two more great gigs in the following weekend which I will report about next week. See you in Westport!
