The Gibson Brothers ring the bell twice at IBMA

Many people in Ireland will have seen and heard the Gibson Brothers (USA) perform 'Ring the bell', the title song from their latest album, at the Appalachian & Bluegrass Music Festival at Omagh five weeks ago.

One week ago, at the IBMA awards ceremony in Nashville, TN, the Gibsons won the awards for Song of the Year and Gospel Recorded Performance of the Year for 'Ring the bell', together with Chet O'Keefe, the songwriter.

The full list of this year's IBMA award winners, which includes the names of many artists who have played in Ireland, can be seen here. Josh Williams, who first appeared here in his teens as mandolinist with the Special Consensus, has won Guitar Player of the Year for the third year running. The Gibson Brothers, like the Special Consensus and other bluegrass artists, record for Alison Brown's Compass Records.
