Bluegrass Christmas cards - and a familiar face?
Many of us already have Christmas preparations on our mind, foremost among which must be the age-old question: where can one get bluegrass Christmas cards?
One answer is: from Karen Cannon in the USA, whose artwork also appears in the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Grand Ole Opry, and the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN, the International Bluegrass Music Museum in Owensboro, KY, and Dollywood. As well as bluegrass, her cards include ranges for old-time music, the dulcimer (both Appalachian and hammered), other genres of music, cats (including bluegrass cats), and more.
Karen Cannon's Christmas card line became available on 1 October, according to the website. Can it be completely by chance that her images of Santa Claus bear a strong resemblance to Danny Rogers, familiar to Irish audiences from his tours here as bassist for the Bluegrass Patriots (USA)?
