Gillian Welch confirmed for Open House Festival, 11 Sept. 2010

Westport, Co. Mayo, must be a good place for news. Over a week ago Uri Kohen of Electric Cave Production reported that he would be going to see Gillian Welch at the Open House Festival in Belfast next month. Today the Open House announces:

We are delighted to confirm that legendary American singer-songwriter Gillian Welch will be playing as part of the band when the Dave Rawlings Machine comes to the Coors Light Open House Festival, Belfast, on Saturday 11 September. We would like to point out that this will not be a Gillian Welch solo show as such, but that 'Mrs Rawlings' will be very much an integral part of the live band. So, you have Old Crow Medicine Show, Dave Rawlings, Gillian Welch, and Joe Pug all on the same night - and all for a mere £20. And there you were thinking that the night before, which features Wilco, Felice Brothers, and Field Music was the Americana gig of the year. We think both nights are pretty darn special.
