The Dust Busters in Ireland, 2-5 Sept.

At around the same time that the Water Tower Bucket Boys from Portland, Oregon, begin playing in the north of Ireland (the Omagh and Open House festivals), another old-time string band from the other side of the USA will be playing in the west and in Dublin.

The Dust Busters from Brooklyn, NY, consist of Walker Shepard (guitar, banjo, bantar, vocals), Eli Smith (banjo, guitar, bantar, manjo, autoharp, harmonica, vocals), and Craig Judelman (fiddle, pump organ, vocals). Their MySpace site comes with glowing endorsements from people who know what they're talking about when it comes to old-time music; and they arrive here after playing in Bulgaria, and possibly Rome.

As Uri Kohen mentioned a few days ago, the Dust Busters will take part in the series of shows arranged by Electric Cave Production in Westport, Co. Mayo. Their full schedule in Ireland, as it stands at present, is:
