Bending the Strings at Dunmore East
On the main outdoor stage at the Haven Hotel
Thanks to BTS for this report:
Bending the Strings just completed their debut at the Dunmore East Bluegrass Festival last weekend, and it was a very successful trip for them. The festival crowds gave the band a great reception, and their high energy set of up-tempo bluegrass banjo breakdowns and guitar and keyboard fiddle tunes went a treat with the very large crowds attending the Festival.
The band's new album All keyed up was very well received by the Dunmore East Festival crowds also, and the tracks which have been getting a lot of airplay on RTE Radio 1 - namely the title track 'All keyed up' and the U2 cover 'Still haven't found' - went particularly well and were very popular and requested by the Bluegrass Festival followers.
Bending the Strings played five gigs in the three-day event as well as numerous jam sessions, so a lot of bluegrass was played over the weekend.
The band would like to take the opportunity to thank Mick Daly and all the Dunmore East Bluegrass Festival organisers for inviting them to take part in this very well organised event, also the trojan work done by all the sound engineers who provided all the bands with excellent sound, and finally all the cafes, restaurants, and hotels who provided first-class service to the bands and festival-goers. Roll on next year!
