Bending the Strings - All keyed up on BBC Radio Ulster

Thanks to Bending the Strings, who report:

Tuesday 3 August saw Bending the Strings doing the BBC Radio Ulster Hugo Duncan show as part of promoting their latest album, All keyed up. The album has been getting tremendous attention from BBC Northern Ireland radio, with the band's self-penned and title track, 'All keyed up', getting the majority of the airplay on the Ulster station.

The very popular BBC radio DJ Hugo Duncan is a huge fan of the album and has been playing the title track every day on his show, and when he did his annual outdoor radio extravaganza from Warrenpoint last Tuesday he wanted his listeners to see and hear, live, the band he has been telling his audience for the last few weeks, and Bending the Strings did not disappoint. They opened and closed the show and went down a storm with Hugo's audience. Martin Cooney, Moyra Fraser, and Vinny Baker were on hand to meet the Hugo Duncan listeners and sign their albums and photos for the large crowd.

The new album, All keyed up, is making great strides on the national airwaves also with track 2, Bending the Strings' own take on the U2 song 'Still haven't found what I'm looking for', getting plenty of plays on the John Creedon Show, with John Creedon expressing his love of the entire album, saying that he will be playing a lot more of it in the coming weeks.

So things are looking very promising for Bending the Strings and their honky-tonk bluegrass album All keyed up, and they are continuing their run of gigs in St Enda's park, Rathfarnham, Dublin, this coming Sunday 8 August at 3.00 p.m. It's always a great gig and if you are around, go and have a listen to Bending the Strings; you will have a great time in these lovely surroundings of St Enda's and will hear some of the best bluegrass and western swing music ever!
