Little Ass Birds at Westport

In June 2007 with the launch of the first Westport Folk & Bluegrass Festival, the sound of bluegrass hit the town like thunder on a sunny day. Now approaching the 4th festival, it seems like the people of Westport can't get enough of the sweet sound of bluegrass and old-time music.

Last night (Saturday 13 Mar.) we experienced another great gig, this time by the Dublin-based Little Ass Birds. They performed a superb set of bluegrass and old-time classics with their own unique touch. The band showed great commitment and love of music, as the gig was in risk of cancellation dew to some member of the band falling sick; but they made it to Westport after all and gave us a night to remember.

On 27 Mar. 2010 we will have a folk night with a twist, headlined by A Band called Wanda, from Galway.
