Bending the Strings: new album, new shows

Thanks to Vinny Baker, who reports:

Bending the Strings, whose music has been described by one reviewer as Honky-Tonk Bluegrass (which fairly aptly describes the trad bluegrass set played by the band with the guitar, 5-string banjo & piano line up), release their second album of bluegrass standards, guitar, piano, and banjo instrumentals, including some original material by the group. The album is expected to be on sale in just under two weeks and the band is very pleased with the results.

In advance of its release, Bending the Strings play support to American country music superstars Billie Jo Spears and Georgette Jones this coming Saturday (20 March) in Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford, in the Park House Hotel. The concert kicks off at 8.00 p.m. and Bending the Strings will be doing a six-song set, which will include several songs from their forthcoming album - which, incidentally, will be titled All keyed up. The following Saturday (27 March) sees Bending the Strings return to the Bluegrass Sessions in Mullingar's Greville Arms, which are proving to be a very big success.

The band will keep you updated on the progress of the new album, and just remind all their friend and followers to keep a watch for it on sale in their local record store; and any requests from the album which are sent to local and national radio stations will be greatly appreciated.

We look forward to meeting our friends and fans at the Park House in Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford, on Sat. night next, 20 March. Best wishes from Martin, Moyra, & Vinny.
