The Bluestack Mountain Boys

Thanks to Aran Sheehan of the Bluestack Mountain Boys (formerly known as the Bluegrass Brothers), who reports that the band has

got off to a flying start in 2010 with a very well received gig in Westport for Uri (Electric Cave Productions) and John in Geraghty's pub. They really looked after us and made us feel very welcome.

The BMB played Le Cirk on Dame St., Dublin, at 8.00 p.m. on Sunday 31 Jan., with Tom Hanway on banjo, who was on his way back from playing with the Molly Hicks in Carrig-on-Barrow. Aran adds:

Tony O'Brien very kindly booked us for the Athy Bluegrass Festival on 8 July. That's a gig we are really looking forward to (with a bit of in-trepidation), as we have to get up in front of our bluegrass peers and show what we have been up to over the year. We will have Tom on banjer and Camille on fiddle for that one, and - you never know - we might be lucky and pick up a bass fiddle along the way.
