Lester Flatt: a prophet honoured in his own country

The original Bluegrass Blog describes today how the house of represent-atives of the state of Tennessee has passed a resolution honouring Lester Flatt (1914-79), one of the giant figures in bluegrass music, and lead singer in the 'classic' configuration (1945-8) of Bill Monroe's Blue Grass Boys before his epoch-making partnership with Earl Scruggs. He has also been honoured previously by the Country Music Hall of Fame, the IBMA's Hall of Fame, and his home town of Sparta, TN.
