Irish presence at ResoSummit 2009

As you can see from today's post on the original Bluegrass Blog, the third annual ResoSummit was held in Nashville from Thursday 5 Nov. to Sunday 8 Nov. 2009, with eleven distinguished teachers headed by the multi-award-winning Rob Ickes, together with the presence of luthiers Paul Beard and Tim Scheerhorn. Over 100 resonator-guitar players attended 'from all over the United States', to quote Rob Ickes, 'as well as Germany, Israel, Ireland, and the U.K., and at every level from beginner to very advanced'.

Who was there from Ireland? Well, look closely at the group photo on the BB post - near the front on the right-hand side is Dublin's own Gerry Fitzpatrick of the Sick and Indigent Song Club. The S&ISC will be headlining at the Mill Bar, Sixmilebridge, Co. Clare, this coming Saturday (14 November) to launch the programme for the Winter Music Weekend 2010 festival.

Update 12 Nov.: A bass-player's equivalent for the ResoSummit is being planned for January 2010 in Roanoke, VA; see the Bluegrass Blog.
