I'm just dropping you a short note to tell you about a great pickin' session I had this past week, performing and playing with Northern Ireland's Broken String Band at the Michael Coleman Week Festival 2009 in Co. Sligo at Cawley's Hotel, Tobercurry. It really was great craic and the crowd really enjoyed it. It's a fabulous festival of traditional Irish music, and bluegrass elements really make it exciting!
I would especially like to thank Big Walty, Geordie McAdam and all those in Broken String Band for inviting me to play and pick tunes with them. I've added some attachments of the two nights as well as a link to a MySpace site [or here], where I have uploaded a short video of a Saturday night set... I apologize for the poor quality of sound in the video; however, it will give you a good idea of the atmosphere felt that night.

Hey Patrick,
I listened to your other video there, by the water, & that's a great sounding Banjo you play.
What make is it?
Cheers,
Dick
Hi Dick!
It's a 1922 Paramount Tenor Banjo "A Style". It has a great tone and good volume. It's good to play in Irish Traditional sessions as well as practicing at home by the fire. Thanks.

Sir, Just returned from the Bluegrass Festival Omagh Ulster American Folk Park and saw the Broken String Band. Do you know where they play in Belfast? I'd really like to see them again. They were great!
