Maiden City Festival: bands on YouTube

The Maiden City Festival, held at Derry at the beginning of August, can be revisited on YouTube, where there is a lot of video footage of music and atmosphere.

Several videos come from the 'Do ye mind the Mem?' concert, featuring the Signetts (with Frankie Robinson on electric lead guitar) and the various bands later formed by Signetts members. The bluegrass and old-time element of the festival is represented by Broken Strings, Bill Whelan's OXO Boys, and Woodbine, all shown in performance on the streets or walls of Derry.

The Maiden City YouTube site also has a recent addition, shot in the Pennsylvania Dutch barn at last weekend's Omagh festival: Janet Holmes (guitar) and Colin Henry (banjo) singing 'Sitting on top of the world', accompanied by Ivan Muirhead (lead guitar) and Wilson Davies (bass) from Broken Strings.
