Fingal Songwriter's Weekend, 18-19 July

The 1st Annual ‘An Fiach Dubh’ Fingal Songwriter's Weekend will be held on 18-19 July 2008 at the Séamus Ennis Cultural Centre, Naul, Fingal, Co. Dublin, in Association with Fingal Arts & Songschool, featuring songwriting workshops and performances by Mick Hanly, Gary Ferguson, Iain Archer, and Peter Baxter.

Friday 18 July
Legendary Irish singer-songwriter Mick Hanly will host a songwriting
workshop at 3.00 p.m. with award-winning U.S. bluegrass songwriter Gary Ferguson. For full details click here. Mick and Gary will take to the stage later that evening with lap-steel player Colin Henry for a special performance at 8.30 p.m. at the Centre.

Saturday 19 July
Iain Archer hosts a songwriting workshop with Peter Baxter of Songschool at 3.00 p.m. Iain Archer will take to the stage later that evening for a special performance at 8.30 p.m. at the Séamus Ennis Cultural Centre. For full details click here.

Both workshops will include an ‘in-the-round’ listening session, during which attendees will be invited to perform their songs and hear constructive feedback, encouragement and advice from these experienced and successful songwriters and performers. All songwriters welcome. Admission to each workshop is priced at €10.00, and those who wish to also attend the evening performances can do so for an inclusive price of €20.00 for both the workshop and the performance.
